Although my last blog post already had a miniature update in it, I figured it would me to still do this month’s works in progress update, for those of you who are following the progress of Roc Rider and the game.
First, Roc Rider. I’m in the middle of copy-editing at the moment, and it’s going quite well. I’m afraid there isn’t a whole lot to report on this front this month, unless you want to hear specifically about some of the words I’m cutting or rewriting, and I’m pretty sure no one wants that. On to the game!
I’m close to having the first floor possibilities mapped out and then I’m going to start in to work on getting the playable demo ready. The interesting challenge will be coding the variables into the game’s text to react to the player’s choices. I’m using the Twine 2 engine to run the game and the coding is simple but still requires some careful attention to syntax and planning to make the variable tests work correctly. I don’t expect there will be any problems with getting the demo out in July.
There we have it. Short, but sweet. I know I’ve been a bit lapse on the blog recently, but I promise I’ll get a better seat on the blog horse again next week. Until then, happy reading everyone!
