Having myself enjoyed both “Rebel of the Sands” and “Traitor to the Throne“, the first two entries in the debut series of Alwyn Hamilton, I thought I’d do a bit of searching and find some read-alikes for those who enjoyed these and want something similar. (Read my reviews of “Rebel” and “Traitor“)
So, in no particular order:

The cunning daughter of the pirate king, Alosa, goes on a mission behind enemy lines. Allowing herself to be captured in order to retrieve a treasure map seems like a foolproof plan. Until the unexpectedly handsome first mate Riden keeps getting in the way.
9. “A Crown of Wishes” by Roshani Chokshi
Gauri is the princess of a conquered land. Vikram is an enemy prince on a path to become a puppet-king. To free Gauri’s kingdom and make Vikram a true authority in his they enter the mystical Tournament of Wishes, where the winner is granted a wish from the Lord of Wealth as their prize. They might learn, though, that the greatest danger can come from one’s greatest desire.
8. “Flame in the Mist” by Renee Ahdieh
When Mariko, the daughter of a samurai, is ambushed on the way to her political wedding, she’s forced to infiltrate the organization responsible to stop the attempts on her life. Once inside, though, she finds herself appreciated for her intelligence and abilities, for the first time in her life.
7. “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas
Feyre is a huntress who one day kills the wrong wolf and is sentenced to isolation among the Fae for her crime. As she learns to appreciate the Fae she discovers that a wicked shadow is growing in power, and it may consume their world unless she can stop it.
6. “Truthwitch” by Susan Dennard
On a continent ruled by three empires, a decades long truce is about to come to an end and reignite a centuries long war. Safi is a truthwitch, a person with the power to always know if someone is lying. Her power is highly coveted by all sides in the conflict…and if they cannot have her, they’ll do whatever they must to keep her out of the other empires’ hands.
5. “Starflight” by Melissa Landers
Solara ends up on the run with a rich man from her past when her attempt to make it to the outer planets for a job goes awry (read my review here).
4. “Six of Crows” by Leigh Bardugo
Kaz Brekker, criminal prodigy, is hired to pull an impossible heist. To complete it, he assembles a team of six outlaws who are about as ready to kill each other as they are to get rich. Their success could be all that stands between the world and destruction.
3. “The Girl of Fire and Thorns” by Rae Carson
Elisa is the latest in a long line of Chosen Ones, and her power is needed to save the kingdom of her husband, the king. Yet this young princess has always been a failure, and with dark hunters and revolutionaries pursuing her for their owns ends she may yet find herself in an early grave if she cannot learn to unlock the power of the chosen.
